Waste Crusher is a puzzle game where the players work at waste management site and they need to strategically fit waste into a landfill. The game features a tile-based grid where players arrange variety of waste types (normal, metal, toxic, and magnets).

Players are required to think outside the box by using machines (hydraulic press, cutter, and incenerator) to reshape the waste.

Made in 72 hours (3 days) for submission to BGDJam 2026.

  • Jam Theme: Under Pressure
  • Interpretation: The game utilizes a hydraulic press mechanic, allowing players to apply pressure to waste blocks to change their form

Thought Process

I wanted to make a puzzle game at the time. As soon as the gamejam theme is revealed (“under pressure”), I can’t stop thinking about hydraulic press.

With inspiration from Dungeon Slime, Bento Blocks, and Wall-E, I wrote the idea as soon as possible at a piece of paper:
